"Contemporary Craft: Why does my teapot not hold tea?" with Diane Scharf for Adults

In this class we will review the history of craft and how it relates to contemporary craft. The period studied will be Mid to Late 20th Century. Our first problem will be to determine the definition of craft and how it has changed. We will discuss different medium of the craft movement including wood, glass, pottery and fiber arts. In each media category, we will discuss the work of several pioneers.
After a break for lunch in Sandwich Village or any place of your choice we will meet up at the lovely Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton. There as a group we will continue our discussion of contemporary craft by pointing out some examples. There will be plenty of time for individual exploration both outdoors and indoors.
