In Creative Collage, we’ll delve into various materials, textures, and visual effects by combining diverse elements to express emotions, narrate stories, or create abstract compositions. You’ll acquire a range of painting and mark-making techniques to enhance the depth and visual appeal of your work. Additionally, we’ll review the Elements and Principles of Art to guide you in assembling your collage compositions as you create
Materials : I will email students with the list of materials to bring to the first class. If you could start to gather items to add to your collages, that would be great -Glue; glue sticks, glue of choice, Nori glue -Matt Medium- Your choice of brand, clear Matt or gloss -Scissors -Assortment of mark-making tools: charcoal, colored pencils, chalk or pastels, markers - White acrylic paint and assortment of colors - Bristol board or heavyweight paper - 11x14 or larger - canvas board 1 or more 8x10 or larger - Assortment of brushes to paint and apply Matt medium - A variety of materials to apply: Papers: tissue paper, old wrapping paper, any kind Old pictures, magazines, scraps of ribbons Contact instructor directly if she is supplying your materials for the class at: [email protected] INSTRUCTOR: Nora Cannon
Nora Cannon M. Ed - Earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the esteemed Massachusetts College of Art and Design, followed by a Master’s degree in Education from Tufts University, acquired through the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Over the past thirty years, she has immersed herself in the art community—teaching, lecturing, and writing about art while continuously exhibiting artwork in various galleries and spaces.
