Color Theory in Acrylics

Tired of making muddy or "off-key" paint colors? Join us in this two-part workshop as we delve into paint mixing and color theory! Part One will focus on creating various shades and values from key paint colors, and learning how to tweak saturation and tone in color. In Part Two, you will take our freshly learned skills and apply them to a painting of your choice. This workshop is split into two three-hour sessions.
Materials will be provided and include acrylic paints, a 12" x 16" canvas panel per student, and canvas paper. $25 materials fee due on first day to instructor. Max Class Size - 8 INSTRUCTOR: Léonie Little-Lex
![]() Léonie Little-Lex is a fine artist and illustrator who lives with her husband on Cape Cod, MA. She graduated from Mass College of Art and Design with a BFA in illustration in 2009, and then went on to complete her Masters of Arts in teaching in 2012. She shows her work on Cape Cod and in the greater Boston area, and has also exhibited nationally in Oregon, New York, and North Carolina. She works in a variety of media with an emphasis on painting and pen-and-ink drawings. A is for Always: An Adoption Alphabet, her first children’s book, was released in August 2022. In addition to her work as an artist, Léonie has been an instructor in drawing and painting for over 10 years, both in private and community settings.
