POSTPONED "Nuno Felted Scarf" presented by Annamarie Behring
Date: Saturday, 5/2
Time: 12:30 - 4:30 PM Location: Location: Sandwich Arts Alliance Center, 124 Rt. 6A, Sandwich, MA Cost: $60* members/$70* non-members *$25 materials fee due to instructor at beginning of class for scarf, wool, and silk (cash or check) In this beginner-friendly workshop by felting artist Annamarie Behring, you will create a one-of-a-kind scarf. What is nuno felting? Nuno felting is a process of combining wool and a piece of fabric to create a scarf. We will create our own designs by laying down merino wool, pre-felt, tussah silk, and sari silk on top of the silk scarf base. Then we will add soap and water, felting the scarf using our hands and a variety of tools to adhere the wool and silk to the fabric base. The result is a custom made, soft and luxurious scarf that would make a great gift. The instructor will demonstrate how to make a rose-themed scarf, but you will also have the choice of making your own design. A variety of scarf colors will be available. Please see list of materials below to bring to class. You will go home with one handmade scarf as well as printed instructions (with color photos) for creating a scarf on your own. Join us for this fun and creative workshop! Any questions, please feel free to contact me, Annamarie Behring, at annamariebehring@hotmail.com Materials List

Annamarie is an artist with a passion for felting, weaving, and painting. Her themes are centered on the love of nature and animals. She likes the tactile and malleable nature of wool, and happily creates felted paintings, soaps, coasters, animals, flowers, and more. Making woven wall hangings has been a delightful pursuit as well. She lives in East Falmouth with her husband, Jason, with whom they run an Etsy business, “Bear, Moose and Bunny”. She has a degree in Art Education from UMass Dartmouth. Her greatest joy of all is sharing the creative process with others! |
