Chaos: Interpretations
Visual Artists Submission Form
|
It’s time to get our Ekphrastic Event moving. A reminder, ekphrasis is a rhetorical device defined as the “written description of a work of art, either real or imagined”. This is the first step, a Call to Visual Artists. We are looking for 35 Visual artists to provide an image of their artwork. Once we get the images, they will be put on the SAA website and our Literary members will choose a piece that moves them and then they will create a written description. We are expecting about 12-14 literary members to participate, so it is important to note that not all visual pieces entered will be selected for this event. Those selected will be notified. Once the pairing of the artwork and written description is done, we will have an exhibit of the art along with the description in the main hallway of the SAA art center. This exhibit, which we are calling, “CHAOS: Interpretation” will start on November 24th and end on December 23rd. We will hold a reception on the evening of December 3rd. Entry deadline is October 18. If you would like to submit work of art that sparks a feeling or is suggestive of a story (Real or imagined.) |
