"Paper Making and Collage Inspired by Eric Carle ( ages 4-6)" presented by Ms. Christine Golding
Dates: Tuesday-Thursday, July 20 and July 22
Time: 11:00AM-12:30PM Location: Sandwich Arts Alliance Center (124 Route 6A, Sandwich) Cost: $30 Free to ConnectorCard to Culture participants This workshop is a creative papermaking and collage experience inspired by the beloved childrens author, Eric Carle. This is a fun and messy experience using lots of textures, tools and techniques for children to explore and express themselves through art. Children will learn to mix colors and textures with many different materials to create a beautiful original paper.
Materials: We will supply Eric Carle book collection paint, paper, pallets, pallet knives, scrapers sponges, stamps, rollers and sparkles. Students should bring: An old shirt to paint in, mask, 2 glue sticks, children scissors. a few different size plastic bottle caps, 1 sheet of newspaper Optional: bubble wrap, cookie cutter shapes or other fun instruments to implement their design. Christine Golding M. ED, has been a teacher for over 30 years and is the former owner of Spatter Art School in Sandwich. She believes that children 3-93 have the potential to use their imaginations to create beautiful art. She holds membership of The Creative Arts Center in Chatham, The Cultural Center in S. Yarmouth, the Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable and the Sanwdwich Arts alliance in Sandwich. She is also the former owner of Sandwich Independent Day school, a very progressive pre-school and kindergarten with an arts based curriculum which received national accreditation (NAYEC) for 10 years. As a former Consulting Teacher of Reading, she has always incorporated art into her literacy programs to help children expand their imaginations and make personal connections to literature. She taught Early Childhood courses, as an adjunct professor at Bridgewater State College, and Cape Cod Community College. |
