Instructor: Christie Palmer Lowrance
Christie Palmer Lowrance is a writer/editor, speaker and instructor. She is the author of Nature’s Ambassador: The Legacy of Thornton W. Burgess (Schiffer Publishing, 2013). Her 320-page book is the first complete biography of the Cape Cod native and beloved 20th century children’s author who became a pioneering environmental educator and influential American conservationist.
Ms. Lowrance's work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Cape Cod Life, Cape Cod Times, Country Journal, Oceans, and Fodor's travel guides, among other publications. She has taught writing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Cape Cod Community College, and the Cape Cod Writers Conference. She has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Professional Writing. A member of the National League of American Pen Women and the Sandwich Arts Alliance, Ms. Lowrance is at present writing a biography on Dr. George Bass, widely known as the father of underwater archaeology. She lives in Sandwich, MA.
