"Acrylic Painting Exploration with Peggy Richard

Materials List:
9 x 12 spiral sketchbook/pencils/ruler/eraser 5-6 assorted stretched painting canvases, squares or rectangles between 10 x 10 inches – 11 x 14 inches Heavy body acrylic paints in tubes (Golden or Liquitex brands preferred 2 oz or 5 oz depending on your budget) Colors: Titanium White (5 oz needed) Cadmium Red Medium Quinacridone Magenta Cadmium Yellow Medium Cadmium Yellow Light Ultramarine Blue Phthalo Blue Burnt Sienna 8oz. jar of Liquitex Acrylic Matte Medium (used to dilute paint and make glazes) 8oz. jar of gesso (used for sealing canvas and making corrections) A large wet palette with cover like: Masterson 16 x 12 plastic palette (Michaels) or what I use is Reynolds Freezer Wrap (can be found at Stop and Shop) masking-taped to the table 1-2 metal palette knives some assorted mid-grade acrylic brushes water container spray bottle paper towels sponge Optional: A paint shirt or apron to protect your clothing Bring what you can for the first class. Peggy Richard
Peggy holds a BA and MEd in Art Education and taught art for 34 years in north central Massachusetts before relocating to Cape Cod in 2013. Her primary medium is acrylic, but she also enjoys drawing, watercolor, mixed media and collage. She is a juried member at the Cape Cod Art Center, a member of the Falmouth Art Center, and a member of the Sandwich Arts Alliance, where she has taught acrylic painting. Her art has been included in many juried regional and national exhibits throughout Massachusetts. Some selected honors include: First Place in Water Media, The National, CCAC, 2022; Best of Show, All Work Square, Creative Arts Center Chatham, 2019; and Best of Show, The National CCAC, 2018. Peggy had her second one- woman show, Forest Reverie, at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in 2021.
