Lifting Spirits - An Evening of Wine & Poetry

WHERE: British Beer Company, Route 6A, Sandwich DONATION: $10 at the door The Sandwich Arts Alliance hosts "Lifting Spirits - An Evening of Wine & Poetry" in celebration of spring, word lovers everywhere, and congeniality! National Poetry Month is April, but the Literary Arts group of the Alliance will jump-start the event by bringing together poets and poetry lovers to read original work or old favorites, sip some spirits, and revel in the joy that finding " just the right word" can bring. Join with friends old and new; bring a poem to read and share; or just relax and listen. This is a very informal gathering focused on wonderful poems and good cheer. at the . Music, wine, and snacks provided. Donation $10. |

Poetry Down Memory Lane

On Wednesday, March 28, the Sandwich Arts Alliance is hosting "Poetry Down Memory Lane" at the Sandwich COA, Quaker Meetinghouse Road, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This is a free event, part of the SAA's celebration of National Poetry Month . Guests are asked to bring an original poem or a favorite author's poem to read which speaks to some aspect of life experience. Poet Glyn Dowden will be the facilitator and coffee, tea, and pastries will be served. Call the COA to register.

Sandwich High School Poetry Club and SAA

Sandwich High School
The Sandwich High School Poetry Club will share a Wednesday night pot luck supper with SAA Literary Arts members at one of the club's Wednesday evening meetings at the high school in April. This is a continuation of the Alliance's National Poetry Month celebration and a renewal of the SAA and SHS collaboration which began last year. A reading of original work and some mentoring from SAA poets will highlight the event.
