Let’s Picnic! Online Auction

Join us for this online fundraiser to benefit the Sandwich Arts Alliance for a chance to win a stunning hand-painted picnic basket, designed, painted and signed by a Sandwich Arts Alliance artist and filled with a gift card to a local favorite restaurant.
The Let’s Picnic! Online Auction was created this year to replace the SAA Annual Gala, which was canceled due to the constraints of COVID-19.  This year, you can enjoy picnicking at home – with a unique artist-inspired picnic basket  – while helping the Sandwich Arts Alliance through these challenging times. Proceeds from this one annual SAA fundraising event will be used for programming, special events and operations, and is especially meaningful following our Center being closed and all exhibits and events being canceled.  Thank you for your continued support. 
Auction ​Dates:  Saturday, August 8 - Saturday, August 22 (bidding ends at 9PM on Aug. 22nd) 
Pickup of painted baskets by winners will be ​Sat, Aug 29 from 10AM-12PM at the SAA Center
Thirty picnic baskets, each with a flat-top surface perfect for a hand-painted design, are being painted by thirty SAA artists with images that invoke summer life here in Sandwich and on Cape Cod. Each basket top will be signed by the artist, and each basket top is removable so that the artwork can be hung if desired. Forty unpainted baskets with the SAA logo will also be available at the auction through a ‘Buy Now’ button.
Baskets Available for Bidding:
  • 30 stunning hand-painted picnic baskets designed, painted and signed by a Sandwich Arts Alliance artist. Each basket includes your choice of a $35 gift card to Café Chew, Fishermen’s View or The Sagamore Inn. 
Basket lids are removable and suitable for framing or hanging.
​Basket size is 12"L x 8"W x 6"H.
Baskets Available for Purchase ($85):
  • 40 (unpainted) baskets adorned with an SAA hanging ornament. Each basket includes your choice of a $35 gift card to Café Chew, Fishermen’s View or The Sagamore Inn.​​

How it works:
  • Visit www.32auctions.com/SAApicnic to begin bidding on your favorite basket/baskets on August 8th at 9AM.  (You will need to register with 32Auctions - our auction partner - to bid. Tip: Register ahead of time at www.32auctions.com/users/new. to be ready when bidding opens!)
  • Watch your bids throughout the auction - bidders will be notified by email when they have been outbid. Be sure to increase your bid to win your favorite! 
  • Winners will be notified at the close of the auction and you will be contacted to select a gift card of your choosing.
