The role of a good narrative is vital to all the arts: music, art, painting, photography, layout, graphics, editing. Throughout the presentation there will be tips and techniques as well as behind-the-scenes insights into how to improve and advance in your chosen career.

ABOUT BARBARA SILLERY
Award-winning television producer/director/author Barbara Sillery has recently been honored with a 2020 First Place award by the New Orleans Press Club for best coverage of a live event during the 2019 Mardi Gras season. Sillery has also produced and written numerous documentaries for PBS stations. She has worked as a Field Producer for syndicated shows such as Warner Brothers's EXTRA and Celebrity Justice as well as the Travel Channel, CBS Morning News, and the Learning Channel. She is the author of four books of folklore for Pelican Publishing, a subsidiary of Arcadia/History Press: The Haunting of Cape Cod and the Islands, The Haunting of Louisiana. The Haunting of Mississippi, and Biloxi Memories. Her magazine articles have appeared in Native Peoples, Louisiana Life and Irish Dancer magazines. Her poetry has been published by NLAPW, the National League of American PEN Women website. "I love the challenge of working in different media formats, different platforms. It's all about telling the story" says Sillery.
