Visual Arts Basic Skills

No matter what medium you choose there are basic skills that will make your art outstanding.  This is the arts foundation to get started with.  Review periodically to keep your art popping!  Simply "click" one of the three highlighted links below.

Basic Skills are broken into three categories:
  • Drawing - a primer on how to interpret and create figures and shapes accurately and in proportion.
  • Color Theory - Understand how color impacts your art and how colors played against each other can create a multitude of effects.
  • Composition - Understand how to compose and position subjects in your art or photo to create focus, interest, and appeal.
