Scumbling, hatching, stippling, smudging, lifting… Baffled? These are all drawing techniques- and you can learn them and become the artist you want to be! Come spend a few hours and acquire an array of skills that will broaden and sharpen your drawing abilities. We will begin with mark making and cultivating observational skills, and cover contour, proportion, value, and placement. Whether you are putting pencil to paper for the first time or have tried drawing before and are ready for a refresher, join us to create drawings you are truly satisfied with!

Nancy Bates Dapkiewicz Over the last 20 years, I have taught art and photography in public and private schools as well as the Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s summer programs. My own work is mostly in mixed media collage, blending photography, cut paper and fibers. I have recently begun to study watercolors under Linda Branch Dunn. I hold a BFA in Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Education from American International College. I love to read and I make a mean apple pie.
Sandwich Arts Alliance is pleased to participate in the Mass Cultural Council Card to Culture program.
