" Ceramic Jewelry Workshop

Times: 2:00-4:30PM Location: Alliance Arts Center Gallery, 124 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA Cost: $90 members/$110 non-members* *Materials Fee of $10 to be paid to instructor at the first class ![]() How much fun to make your own jewelry pieces from clay! Pendants, bracelets, earrings and pins! In this series of three 2 1/2 hour classes you will learn simple techniques to form clay into wearable art! In the first class we will work with clay to make the jewelry pieces from clay . Then they will fired in a kiln so that in the second class you will get to play with glazes to add color. Everything will be fired again for a final time so that in the third class they are ready to be put together, adding some charms ,beads, wire work and basic knotting techniques. No experience necessary! Each student will make approximately 8 to 10 pieces of jewelry of their choice.
Supplies and firings will be covered by a fee of $10 paid to the instructor at the first class. Instructor: Holly Heaslip
![]() A Cape Cod native, Holly Heaslip began her career in clay over 50 years ago as an apprentice at Brewster Pottery. Wanting to become a teacher, she went on to Skidmore College receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and then a Masters of Fine Art from the School for American Craftsmen at Rochester Institute of technology. Holly then taught in New York state and was an Artist in residence at Art Park during summers. Returning to Cape Cod she established her studio, Bay Scallop Pottery and worked seasonally at Snow farm the New England Crafts Program for 22 years.
Currently Holly teaches both the Potters wheel and Hand Building at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod and the Cotuit Center for the Arts. Her work can be found locally at the Museum Shop of the Cape Cod Museum of Art, The Artisans Gallery at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod and Love, Live, Local in Hyannis. |
