Celebrate the beauty of fall in New England with watercolor painting! In this one day workshop, we will create realistic and luminous still lifes using gourds, fall leaves, and pumpkins for subject matter. Course will cover proper lighting and still life set-up, composition design and a variety of techniques in watercolor painting. We will learn about the properties of watercolor and how we can use them to our advantage. Beginners welcome.
These workshops are geared towards adults, but can be enjoyed and joined by older children/teens (recommended age 10 and up). We encourage parent/child duos! Instructor: Léonie Little-Lex
Léonie Little-Lex is a fine artist and illustrator who lives with her husband on Cape Cod, MA. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in illustration in 2009, then went on to complete her Masters of Arts in teaching in 2012. She shows her work on Cape Cod and in the greater Boston area, and has also exhibited nationally in Oregon, New York, and North Carolina. She works in a variety of media with an emphasis on painting and pen-and-ink drawings. A is for Always: An Adoption Alphabet, her first children’s book, was recently released in August 2022. In addition to her work as an artist, Léonie has been an instructor in drawing and painting for over 10 years, both in private and community settings.
